Painting with friends

Ditch the monotony of one serious day after another. You’re invited to experience a familiar setting for friendly, artistic people to gather – a place for everyone to have fun!

Painting with Friends offers weekly classes to create art inspired by nature, seasonal celebrations, local events, our favorite 90’s sitcoms, and more. Simply choose the painting prompt that speaks to you and sign up for a corresponding class. You’re invited to bring your own wine or purchase a coffee or tea prior to class.

Whether you’re a seasoned professional or this is your first time picking up a paintbrush, we welcome you to come make beautiful art with friends. You don’t have to be a real artist – you can just act like one!

Classes fill up fast, so be sure to reserve your spot soon.

Maybe painting just isn’t your thing. That’s okay! In the coming months, we will offer new ways to sharpen your artistic skills and get creative with additional mediums.

Acrylic pours offer all the fun of painting with more freedom. Pottery is perfect for people looking to experiment with new shapes and textures. Mold something from start to finish or bring in a small sculpture to fire in one of our kilns. We will also offer sewing classes, scrapbooking classes, and more.

About the Owner

Meet Lana Hughes, owner and operator of Painting with Friends. She has a love for art, music, design, events, cooking and creating in general! Until now, she has had to spend most of her career in very serious business environments by necessity, thus squelching all imagination and creative thought for 40+ hours a week. Sad, right?!

Lana grew up in Detroit, Michigan, where she watched her incredibly artistic mother paint, model, and sing to bring in extra money. She was inspired her mom’s ability to use her creativity as a way of creating a living. Lana is the eldest of four children, and grew up to have four children of her own. Family is at the center of all she does and what makes her most proud.

Family, friends and loved ones have all contributed in this studio going from a vision to a brick and mortar reality. God bless them all for their continued support, prayers, and encouragement. They have been (and will continue to be) at the center of this studio and its success.

So, when you come to our Painting with Friends studio apartment to grow your skills or hone a new craft, you never know who might just walk in and make you a cup of coffee or offer to take a picture of you and your group in one of our Photo Op areas.

When you’re here painting, you’re Painting with Friends!
